Fifty Pounds Of Lithium In Each Electric Car
SFGate reported it takes 50 pounds of lithium to run each electric car.
As quoted in the market news:
Demand for the metal may double in the next eight years, driven by sales of batteries for electric vehicles. Pleasanton’s Simbol Materials, which is building a plant in the Imperial Valley of Southern California to extract lithium from brine, says output may jump to 64,000 tons a year by 2020 from an initial 8,000 tons.
