MANAGEMENT

J.R.H. (Dick) Whittington, P. Eng. – Chief Executive Officer, President, Director
Mr. Whittington’s career spans 38 years with a select variety of mining companies in Canada, Mexico, Panama, Papua New Guinea and Australia. His experience encompasses senior executive and mine management roles that include numerous feasibility studies, mine evaluations, mine development, production, marketing, mergers and acquisitions and, directly and indirectly, raising over $1.3 billion of major corporate financings. As former President and CEO of Farallon Mining, Mr. Whittington took the company from the discovery stage through to commercial production in less than four years. After guiding the company through its transition from a junior exploration company to a mid-tier zinc producer, he facilitated the successful sale of the company to Nyrstar for $409 million in January 2011. As a result, he was selected as one of three finalists for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2010 in the mining category for the Pacific Region; and earlier had been awarded a Governor General of Canada Special Gold Medal for his work in strengthening ties between Canada and Mexico and his commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility in mining.

Joseph Bardswich, P. Eng. – General Manager – Moss Project, Director
Mr. Bardswich has been a mining consultant since 1994 and was formerly President, CFO and Director of Gentor Resources Inc. from 2004 to 2010. Mr. Bardswich previously served as President and Director of BRC Diamond Company and Director of United Bolero Development Corp. and Verbina Resources Inc. He is a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and a life member of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (CIM) and is a “Qualified Person” as defined in NI 43-101 Standards for Mineral Disclosure. Mr. Bardswich is a graduate of the University of Windsor (B.A.Sc.,Civil Engineering) and received his Masters Degree (M.Eng. Mining) from McGill University. He has extensive experience in all facets of mining from contract miner, through production supervision, mining engineering, heavy civil engineering and mine management in underground, open pit and alluvial operations in Canada, the U.S., Europe and Africa.

Colin McKenzieP. Geo. – General Manager of Exploration
Mr. McKenzie is a respected exploration professional with over 30 years` senior level experience on major exploration and business development projects in Canada and internationally. Most recently, he was Chief Operating Officer with PNG Gold Corporation, with focus on a gold exploration project in Papua New Guinea. Prior to that, he was President and CEO of Cornerstone Resources, an exploration company with projects in Canada and Ecuador, Vice President Exploration for Skye Resources where he led the evaluation and development of world class nickel laterite projects in Guatemala and was Director of Exploration for Inco Ltd. with responsibility for exploration and new business opportunities in Latin America. He also served as Vice President Exploration for Voisey’s Bay Nickel, managing the exploration and resource evaluation of the Voisey’s Bay deposits and was credited with the discovery of the Hope Brook gold deposit while working in a senior level exploration position with BP Mining. Mr. McKenzie is a graduate of Dalhousie University with B.CS (Honors) and M.Sc. degrees in Geology.

Mr. Ed J Duda, BBA, CMA – Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Secretary
Mr. Duda is a Certified Management Accountant (“CMA”) who brings Northern Vertex over 22 years of senior industry experience within private and public companies in all aspects of corporate finance, administration, strategic planning, operations, business development, risk management and technology implementation. He is a former Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Vancouver-based Union Securities Ltd. (“Union”). During his tenure with the full-service broker dealer, he served as a senior member of the Executive Committee and was responsible for overseeing finance, regulatory reporting & risk management for 14 offices and over 300 employees, located nationwide and the UK. Prior to his role at Union, he was Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer & Privacy Officer of GroupHealth Global Partners Inc.; Chief Operating Officer of Haywood Securities Inc. and Vice-President, Administration & Credit of Blackmont Capital Inc. (formerly First Associates Investments Inc. and Yorkton Securities Inc.) Mr. Duda obtained his CMA designation in 1988 and Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (Accounting & Finance) from Simon Fraser University in 1983.

Kenneth Berry, B. Comm. – Chairman of the Board
Mr. Berry has over 20 years experience in public capital markets. He previously served as an investment advisor and is a founding director of various public companies including Northern Vertex, Kootenay Silver and Theia Resources. His involvement in the junior resource sector has ranged from the start-up and acquisition phase of projects, through to exploration and development and he has been instrumental in over $300 million in successful financings. He currently holds the position of Chairman/Director of Northern Vertex, Chairman/Director of Kootenay Silver and Director of Theia Resources. After attending Denver University’s hockey program, Mr. Berry enjoyed a professional hockey career in North America and Europe and participated for Canada’s National Hockey Team in the 1980 and 1988 Winter Olympics.

James M. McDonald, P. Geo. – Director
Mr. McDonald brings Northern Vertex over 25 years experience in the international mining sector. He has a proven track record developing and advancing projects from the start-up phase to production. Among his credits, he co-founded and successfully developed National Gold (which merged with Alamos Minerals) to form Alamos Gold where he was a Director and served on the technical committee until June 2012. He also formerly served as President of Genco Resources, during which time it operated the La Guitarra Mine, an underground silver mine located in Mexico. Mr. McDonald is a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101 Standards for Mineral Disclosure.

David Farrell, B.Comm., LL.B. – Director
Mr.Farrel is President of Davisa Consulting, a private consulting firm working with junior to mid-tier global mining companies. Prior to founding Davisa, Managing Director of Mergers & Acquisitions at Endeavour Financial where he structured, negotiated & closed over US$25 billion worth of M&A transactions for junior and mid-tier natural resource companies. Before his 12 years at Endeavour Financial, he was a lawyer at Stikeman Elliott, working in Vancouver, Budapest and London. David graduated from the University of British Columbia with a B.Comm (Honours, Finance) and an LL.B and is called to the bar in both British Columbia and England. Director of TSXV-listed Northern Vertex Mining, and a board and finance committee member of Yaletown House, a non-profit, critical-care seniors’ residence in downtown Vancouver.

Mark Schnarr, BA – Director
Mr. Schnarr is President and CEO of Alpha Technologies Ltd., a company which designs and manufactures power conservation, protection and stand-by products. Mr. Schnarr previously served as an Executive Vice President for Telus Communications Inc., as well as President of Telus Ventures. Additionally, Mr. Schnarr has served as a board member of numerous organizations including Telus International, Vision Critical and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and has experience in reviewing financial statements. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and has his Canadian Securities Course Certificate.
