Orefinders Resources Inc. (TSXV:ORX) announced an average of 93% gold recovery at an average grind size of P80 of 65µm, during preliminary metallurgical scoping testwork on stockpiles at the Mirado gold project near Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Tests included determination of the Bond ball mill work index and cyanidation tests designed to investigate the recovery of gold. These results have confirmed the historical metallurgical testwork as reported by Golden Shield Resources Ltd. in 1986.

As quoted in the press release:

Each 30 kg sample was preaerated for 6 hours at pH 11-11.5 then leached for 48 hours with 1 g/L NaCN. The consumption of cyanide was low to moderate at 0.3 — 0.4 kg/t NaCN and line consumption was ~0.7 kg/t CaO. Gold extraction ranged from 91.2% to 94.4% and averaged 93% at an average grind size of P80 of 65µm.
