The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) closed today at 5,460.8 points, down 16 points from the previous session. The decline was partially caused by a late Wall Street sell off, according to The Sydney Morning Herald. A scandal regarding insider trading also may have had some effect, though that event’s impact is hard to determine, the news outlet notes.

Faring well today was Australian natural gas company Envestra (ASX:ENV), which rose $0.21, or 18.14 percent, to achieve the biggest gain on the ASX. Meanwhile, Lynas Corporation (ASX:LYC) rose $0.135, or 3.85 percent, and mining contractor NRW Holdings (ASX:NWH) increased by $1.13, or 2.73 percent.

On the other side of the spectrum, Arrium (ASX:ARI), an international mining and materials company, fell $0.05, or 4.74 percent, making it the biggest loser on the market.
