Gas – Business Insider reported that a large gas pipeline explosion in California on Friday has left 11 people injured. A county equipment operator was working with a jail inmate crew to expand the road on the Fresno County Sheriff's office gun range at the time of the accident, although the cause of the explosion is still uncertain.

Molycorp Gains 77 Percent on Siemens Supply Deal

Rare Earth – Shares of Molycorp jumped Wednesday on news that the company has secured a 10-year rare earths supply deal with Siemens. Under the terms of the agreement, Molycorp will supply rare earth materials to Shin-Etsu Chemical, which will produce rare earth magnets for Siemens to use in its high-efficiency, direct-drive wind turbines.
