Lithium – GS Caltex andJS Nippon and Oil Energy set up plant in Korea to produce anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. The news item notes: GS Caltex said Sunday that it will set up next year a joint venture with Japan’s largest energy company JX Nippon and Oil Energy (formerly Nippon Oil) to produce anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. Anode is a key material for lithium-ion secondary batteries used in electric cars. GS Caltex Chairman Huh Dong-soo will visit Tokyo Monday to sign a contract on the new business.
