Critical Elements’ Flagship Project Gets Delayed By a Year

Lithium – Mining Weekly reported that Critical Element’s Rose Project which was originally slated for 2015, will begin its first production in 2016 as it focuses on getting an offtake partner. The company said that the open-pit operation has an expected resource of 24.3-million tons grading 0.89% lithium oxide.

Bacanora Minerals Releases Positive Preliminary Economic Assessment Results

Lithium – Bacanora Minerals Ltd. (TSXV:BCN) released the results of a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment on the La Ventana Lithium Deposit in Mexico: a mine life of 20 years, annual revenue of $US210 million for an Internal Rate of Return of 138% with a 1.9 year pay back, and capital costs of $US114 million with average operating costs at $US1,958/tonne. The Company also disclosed new inferred lithium resources that are estimated at 16,829,000 tonnes averaging 2,557 ppm Li, which brings the total estimated inferred resources for this project to 60 million tonnes averaging 3,000 ppm Li.

Canada Lithium, Marubeni Sign Off-Take Deal

Lithium – Mining Weekly reported that lithium project developer Canada Lithium (TSX:CLQ) has signed an off-take agreement with Marubeni, a Japanese commodity trader. The agreement will involve 25% of the company’s lithium production, and will give Marubeni the exclusive rights to distribute Canada Lithium’s lithium carbonate in Japan for three years.
