Imperial Metals Gets Green Light for Red Chris Less Than a Year After Mount Polley Disaster

Copper – Imperial Metals has received an environmental permit for another project in the province. This month, the BC government announced that the company has received its environmental permit for Red Chris, making it the sixth mine to open in the province since June 2011.

Pacific Booker Minerals Submits Response to Mount Polley Panel Recommendations

Copper – Pacific Booker Minerals (TSXV:BKM) submitted a report to BC's Environmental Assessment Office, the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Ministry of Environment responding to the Mount Polley Independent Technical Review Board Panel Report Recommendations resulting from the tailings dam failure at Imperial Metals' (TSX:III) Mount Polley Mine last year.

BC to Implement All Independent Panel Recommendations Following Mount Polley

Copper – The BC government said in January that it would "act immediately" on the results of an investigation into the tailings dam breach at the Mount Polley mine. On Wednesday, Bill Bennet, BC's minister of energy and mines, confirmed that the government will implement all recommendations from the panel.
