Christie’s Sells 13.22-carat Blue Diamond for $24 Million

Diamond – Bloomberg reported that Christie's set a new world auction record for a jewelry sale yesterday with its Magnificent Jewels auction in Geneva, which garnered $154 million. That was enough to best rival Sotheby's, which briefly took the top spot the previous day with its Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels auction.

Should the Kimberley Process Change its Definition of Conflict Diamonds?

Diamond – Writing for Times LIVE, Sean Clinton reported that the Kimberley Process, which was set up to stop the trade of blood diamonds, has failed to do so and likely will keep failing to do so unless its definition of what constitutes a "conflict diamond" is opened up to "include diamonds that fund human rights violations by government forces."
