The results show the presence of high grade zones such as 12.52m at 19.3% TGC and 0.39% V2O5 from 2.6m to 15.12m in drill hole BMDD0019, 41.62m at 18.0% TGC and 0.41% V2O5 from 2.6m to 44.22m in drill hole BMDD0027, 42m at 17.4% TGC and 0.41% V2O5 from 2.6m to 44.6m in drill hole BMDD0036, and 51m at 17.6% TGC and 0.342% V2O5 from 0m to 51m in drill hole BMDD0037.
Syrah Resources (ASX:SYR) released their Quarterly Report for the period that ended on December 31, 2012. Balama West is the largest known graphite deposit in the world and the vanadium resources exceeds that of the world's largest operating vanadium deposit in South Africa. A maiden mineral resource was announced for the Balama West property and Balama East has an Exploration Target of 300-400 million tonnes at 11% TGC and 0.30% V2O5.
Syrah Resources (ASX:SYR) announced a maiden mineral resource for Balama West. The Inferred Mineral Resource comprises two very high grade zones surrounded by an extensive zone of medium grade graphite. The Inferred Resources are combined high grade zones of 157 million tonnes at 17.1% Total Graphitic Carbon (TGC) and 0.43% V205 at a 5% TGC cut off.
